Bye Laws
Since the inception of the society in 1979,
the Board of Directors (the Board) has formulated the standards (the
Bye Laws) in accordance with the Co-operative Societies Act 1925 (the
Act) to guide their actions. The Bye laws set forth serve as key guiding
principles that represent the SICMSL's policies and rules & regulations.
The board has made amendments in
these Bye Laws over the past in accordance with the Act. The clauses
up for amendment are discussed thoroughly by the Board and then
put forth in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) for the final approval
from the share-holders of the society. The approved clauses of the
Bye Laws are then, in the form of an AGM Resolution, are forwarded
to the Registrar, Co-operative Societies for incorporation as a
registered clause in the amended Bye Laws.
Below are the amendments made in the Bye Laws.
¢ 1st Amendment approved in the Annual General Meeting held
on January 6, 1984
And Registered by the Deputy Registrar on June 17, 1984
¢ 2nd. Amendment approved
in the Annual General Meeting held on January 23, 1987 And Registered
by the Deputy Registrar on June 25, 1984
¢ 3rd. Amendment approved
in the Annual General Meeting held on May13,1990
And Registered by the Deputy Registrar on October 6, 1990.
¢ 4th. Amendment approved
in the Annual General Meeting held on November 8, 1998
And Registered by the Deputy Registrar on January 12, 1999
¢ 5th. Amendment approved
in the Special General Meeting held on April 18, 2004
And Registered by the Deputy Registrar on October 14, 2004
